A few months ago, my son who struggles with anxiety, had to come home early from school because it was too much to handle that day. As we sat together and he was calmer, we had a long talk about working through stressful situations, unknowns, feeling overwhelmed with our daily grind. I asked him, “Do you know how to eat an elephant?”, he replied, “No.”
I explained we can do so by taking “one bite at a time”. It’s an old saying, but it holds true. How do we accomplish a seemingly insurmountable task, one task at a time. How do we reach that weight loss goal, one pound, one day at a time. How do we start adding in more greens to our diet, one new vegetable at a time.
Everything is possible if we just break it down to bite size pieces, start small, keep moving.
